Gibson Davis - Owner/ Guide

Born in Michigan and raised in Central Texas, I grew up spending my summers in a row boat chasing Bass and Pike around the lakes of Central Michigan with a spinning rod. Fast forward a few years to an overnight kayak trip on the Guadalupe river where a buddy lent me a fly rod, a few shoddy casts later I pulled out a Redbreast Sunfish. I went and bought a fly rod the next day. Since then it has turned into no less than an obsession that has led me across the country and world. Eventually, people began inquiring to take them out on the water and show them the ropes, that's when I discovered how much I enjoy teaching and sharing the beauty of Central Texas rivers.

Trip information

I guide out of a 14' Flycraft raft which seats two anglers comfortably, I find these are great rafts for our skinny Texas waters. All gear is provided for trips and will also provide lunch on full-day floats.

Waters

While I'm based in San Marcos I also do trips on the Guadalupe, Llano, as well as wading trips on the Pedernales mainly targeting Carp.
